How I Hope to Put Action Behind ‘Words of the Year’
Walk the talk or something like that
I want to create my own happiness and inspire others to do the same 🦋
Last week, I wrote about my “words of the year.” I was feeling very dreamy and aspirational, but I truly do want something tangible to come from the words. I want something more than just words on a page.
SO, let’s put a ‘how’ to my 2026 words of the year!
I’m assigning different activity options for each word. These are all just ideas for now, I’ll adjust after I get started and see what works and what doesn’t
Peace
Long walks (no headphones)
Meditation (this really isn’t my thing, I’m going to try combining child’s pose with a meditation app for just a few minutes once a week. I will see if I can grow from there)
Adding some gratitude into my morning pages
Sauna (I know this is really trendy right now but I’m actually LOVING the dry sauna. I hate being cold and this is the opposite of being cold)
Yoga (duh) (very bad at it but we’re here to learn!!)
Intrigue
Pick a topic of the month and research it/practice it! (For January, I’m leaning toward developing a signature dish. Something I can make for dinner, from scratch, from memory, with the intention to impress 👩🍳)
Ask more people about their favorite hobby
Read (my goal for the year is a minimum of 10 books)
Creativity
Write (of course)
Pottery (I have a new mug that is waiting to be fired and I’m SO excited)
Puzzles!!
Baking (I’ve already made two batches of muffins this year)
Courage
Sign up for new activities
Fear of the Week (Pick one thing that’s anxiety inducing and do that thing. Not super excited about this one and very much might change my mind)
Compassion
Gratitude (again)
Affirmations
Volunteer (I’m thinking something with food since that’s a passion of mine or something in education)
Write to long distance friends (snail mail 🐌)
