Friday Flutter Report 1.9.26
Sometimes you just need pizza and a rom-com
Two things can be true at the same time. You can be excited about planning/dreaming of activities for the new year AND be emotionally wrecked by the first week back in corporate land post-Christmas. It’s okay to be tired (it’s WINTER) and it’s okay to take things slowly (this is really tough for me to accept).
On Tuesday, when I wrote about how I’m planning to live out my “Words of the Year,” I was full of motivation. By Wednesday, the week had already drug me down. I wasn’t very kind to myself at first; I couldn’t understand why my heart was in flux. Then, I remembered the purpose of this page (it’s wild how easy it is to forget, but that’s why I am writing). It’s really just about one small action that can lead to changing your life - not big gestures and not everything all at once.
That being said, this week’s flutter is not anything novel or groundbreaking, it’s simply an act of comfort and socialization. My friend and I are ordering pizza and watching the movie adaptation of a book we love (People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry). I’m SO excited and I hope you also find one thing that brings you joy today 💙
